A 1940s-era Studebaker slumbers quietly beneath the shady canopy of oaks and sighing pines. Although this old soldier's wheelwells are gradually sinking into the earth, and the bed is filled with the tangle of vines, it still bears a quiet dignity, and a glimpse into the past. My dad recalled riding in this truck as a teenager in 1957. Sixty years later, in 2017, he guided Bill and me to its present location. This image won First Place in a photography competition.
